Disney+ Will Stream Super Bowl LXI Alongside ESPN and ABC

The move pushes Disney+ toward becoming the company’s central hub for live sports to broaden reach for ESPN’s Super Bowl production.

Overview

  • ESPN and Disney+ announced on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026 that Disney+ will livestream Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027 at the same time the game airs on ESPN and ABC, using ESPN’s traditional English telecast team of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge.
  • Disney+ subscribers in the U.S. will get the standard national broadcast feed with national ads, meaning the same presentation and commercial inventory that air on linear TV will appear on the streamer.
  • The platform will carry the game in more than 50 international markets in English and Spanish while ESPN’s linear channels will distribute the Super Bowl to more than 130 countries and territories.
  • Disney also sublicensed Spanish rights to Univision and will carry the ESPN Deportes feed, creating multiple Spanish-language productions, and the service will stream two Monday Night Football games this season starting Oct. 26 under the NFL agreement reached in August 2025.
  • The decision follows a trend of networks using their streaming apps to drive signups and reach large audiences for big games, a tactic that has produced millions of streaming viewers before and could boost subscriptions and ad sales while raising technical and delivery risks for Disney+.
