Disney Uses App-Based Virtual Queue for Wine & Dine Expo Merchandise

An app-driven system will time entries, enforce purchase rules and limit numbers to reduce lines and manage scarce runDisney items.

Overview

  • runDisney finalized a virtual queue for Expo Day 1 on October 22 that covers the AdventHealth Arena and the official runDisney Merchandise Shop; guests can try to join at 7:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. using the My Disney Experience app.
  • You must join through the My Disney Experience app with location services on and be within about a 45-mile geofence to request a spot in the queue.
  • When a slot opens you will receive a push notification with a digital entry code for each guest in your party and you must arrive within a one-hour window and show the code, MagicBand, MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile pass at check-in.
  • Brooks shoe purchases on Day 1 require pre-filled size/style/width forms, are limited to one pair of each design per adult purchaser, accept only credit or debit cards and are not eligible for Disney or Brooks discounts, with try-on pairs available in a separate trial area.
  • Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members keep dedicated early shopping windows that do not require the Day 1 virtual queue, and runDisney has used virtual queues since 2022 to manage crowds and scarce merchandise so joining does not guarantee entry or that items will still be in stock.
