Overview

• The current Animation Courtyard, including Star Wars Launch Bay and Disney Jr. Play and Dance!, will close on September 24, 2025, to begin the transformation.
• The Magic of Disney Animation will open in 2026 featuring hands-on studio departments where guests can learn to sketch characters and take part in meet-and-greets.
• The new animation building’s façade and decor will mirror the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California, capped by a scaled-down Sorcerer Hat.
• Renderings show the removal of the courtyard’s archway in favor of lush landscaping and a Mary Blair-inspired “Drawn to Wonderland” indoor playground.
• Nearby sections are slated to become a Monsters, Inc. land and a Muppets-themed coaster as part of a wider Hollywood Studios overhaul.
