Disney Sets Oct. 20 Closures at Animal Kingdom as DinoLand Rebuild Advances

The moves reallocate dining capacity to support DinoLand’s phased replacement with the Tropical Americas in 2027.

Overview

  • Trilo-Bites and Dino-Bite Snacks will permanently close on October 20, with October 19 marked as the last day of service.
  • Harambe Market will temporarily close on October 20 to prepare for a new menu focused on burgers and chicken strips, with reopening planned for early 2026; Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery will serve lunch with select Harambe items during the downtime.
  • Buffalo Chicken Chips will shift to Eight Spoon Cafe on Discovery Island, and a variety of DOLE Whip floats will move to Warung Outpost in Asia.
  • Hand-scooped ice cream is slated to return to Animal Kingdom in February 2026, with soft-serve, floats, and sundaes available in the interim at Tamu Tamu Refreshments and the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck.
  • Disney reiterated that DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus will have a final operating day of February 1, 2026 before closing February 2 as work continues toward the Tropical Americas opening targeted for 2027.
