Overview
- Walt Disney Studios announced Tuesday that the live-action Moana will be available to buy on digital platforms on Sept. 8, 2026 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on Oct. 6, 2026.
- The physical release will include a limited-edition 4K UHD SteelBook and a three-film collection bundling the original animated Moana, Moana 2 and the live-action remake.
- All home editions will carry multiple bonus features, including a sing-along mode and behind-the-scenes featurettes on the Pacific casting search, the construction of Motunui, choreography and costume design.
- A bonus feature titled 'Voices Return' reunites Lin-Manuel Miranda with Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foaʻi to rework songs from the original and introduce a new number called 'Along The Way.'
- The home rollout follows a tepid theatrical run that earned about $315 million worldwide and drew low critic scores but strong audience ratings, and the lack of a Disney+ date may push families toward buying or renting now.
