Disney Removes Actor Jonathan Majors from Future Projects Following Assault Allegations

Amidst ongoing assault trial, actor Jonathan Majors sees casting in Disney's future projects suspended and upcoming film "Magazine Dreams" removed from December 2023 release.

  • Actor Jonathan Majors' role in future Disney projects, including the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Kang the Conqueror, is in doubt following allegations of assault. Majors was initially slated to become the next central villain of the MCU, having already made appearances in the series Loki and the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
  • Following Majors' arrest in March 2023, related to an alleged domestic dispute, he was subsequently removed from several advertising campaigns and the adaptation of Walter Mosley’s novel, 'The Man in My Basement'. His proposed part was recast.
  • Despite the controversy, his appearance in the second season of Loki is still expected to continue. However, Disney has not made a final decision about Majors' future in other MCU projects, including the future Avengers movies.
  • Disney has removed Majors' upcoming film 'Magazine Dreams' from its December 2023 release schedule. The film, in which Majors plays an aspiring bodybuilder, was initially considered a major awards contender for the actor.
  • Majors' trial date has been set for late November 2023. The outcome of the trial will play a significant role in determining Majors' future with Disney and the MCU.
