Disney Rebrands Disney+ Worldwide With Hulu, Eyes 2026 Unified App

The company is using a phased approach that keeps Hulu’s U.S. app in place during the transition.

  • Hulu has replaced the Star hub on Disney+ outside the U.S., with the global rebrand rolling out from October 8.
  • Disney is introducing iterative product updates including a more visual home screen, a redesigned navigation bar with Disney+, Hulu and ESPN tabs (depending on subscription), an upgraded For You recommendations feed, a revamped Live hub and iOS widgets.
  • Disney says Hulu’s content will be fully integrated into Disney+ by 2026, and it has not set a date to retire the standalone Hulu app in the U.S.
  • U.S. price hikes take effect October 21: Disney+ with ads rises to $11.99 per month, Disney+ Premium to $18.99, and Hulu with ads to $11.99, with Hulu’s no-ads plan staying at $18.99.
  • In Canada, Disney+ prices will increase in November by up to $3 per month depending on tier, with the ad-supported plan remaining at $8.99.
