Overview
- Disney-owned networks went dark for YouTube TV subscribers around the Oct. 31 deadline, with some users reporting removals before midnight ET.
- More than 20 channels, including ESPN, ABC, FX and National Geographic, were removed and related DVR recordings were deleted.
- YouTube TV says Disney proposed costly terms that would raise subscriber prices; Disney says Google refuses to pay market rates accepted by other distributors.
- YouTube TV, which has more than 9–10 million subscribers, will offer a one-time $20 credit if the blackout persists for an extended period.
- The dispute comes as Disney combines Hulu + Live TV with Fubo and follows a series of YouTube TV carriage clashes this year, with TelevisaUnivision still off the platform.
