Overview
- With the July 23, 2027 date reassigned, Marvel’s only theatrical releases for the next two years are Avengers: Doomsday on Dec. 18, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars on Dec. 17, 2027.
- There will be no MCU film released between those two Avengers installments, a change from the approach used around Infinity War and Endgame.
- Disney has not identified the removed project, and reporters note several in‑development possibilities such as Black Panther 3, a Shang‑Chi sequel, a new X‑Men film, Armor Wars, Blade, Doctor Strange 3, a Scarlett Johansson‑produced project, or another Deadpool‑adjacent title, none of which are confirmed for that slot.
- The next MCU movie to hit theaters is Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026, while Disney shifts emphasis to Disney+ series including Wonder Man in December, Daredevil: Born Again season two in March 2026, and Vision Quest later in 2026.
- Marvel still holds four untitled theatrical dates in 2028—Feb. 18, May 5, Nov. 10, and Dec. 15—leaving room for Phase 7 films to be scheduled.
