Overview
- Disney+ officially ordered the Darkwing Duck animated series to series on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, announcing the project in a press release.
- Mark Hamill will voice Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck and Seth Rogen will voice Launchpad McQuack while also producing through his Point Grey Pictures company.
- The announcement finalizes an all-star ensemble that includes Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn and Lilimar as a new character called Duckie, confirming a recast of the title role previously performed by Jim Cummings.
- Writers and executive producers Sean Tretta and Borja Peña Gorostegui are leading the creative team with original creator Tad Stones consulting, and the official logline sends Darkwing into an alternate world where a rebellious teen recruits him to face familiar villains.
- No premiere date has been set yet; the series caps a long development process that began in 2020 and could leverage Point Grey’s recent streaming success while aiming to blend legacy fans’ expectations with new, wider-audience ambitions.
