Disney Opens Beak and Barrel, Magic Kingdom’s First Alcohol-Focused Lounge

Reservations are scarce, with opening-day reports showing dates filled into October.

Overview

  • Walt Disney World marked the Aug. 29 debut with a ribbon-cutting in Adventureland attended by president Jeff Vahle and members of Walt Disney Imagineering.
  • The Pirates of the Caribbean–themed tavern sits beside the attraction and includes distinct spaces such as The Mess, The Captain’s Quarters, The Mapmaker’s Room, and the Cursed Bar, led by animatronic host Rummy.
  • Entry is by reservation only with assigned seating, a 45-minute time limit, and a maximum of two alcoholic drinks per adult.
  • Initial reservations stumbled due to a technical issue, reopened Aug. 20, and booked out within hours; reporters on-site note there is currently no wait list.
  • Offerings focus on rum-forward cocktails, non-alcoholic specialties, and shareable small plates, and new Beak and Barrel merchandise has arrived at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar.
