Disney Names Grand Floridian Lobby Bar 'The Perch,' Opening Nov. 10

The new venue caps a careful lobby refresh that preserves the resort’s Victorian storytelling.

Overview

  • Positioned in the center of the Grand Floridian lobby, The Perch is inspired by the former birdcage feature and incorporates intricate woodwork, stained glass, brass accents, and herringbone tile.
  • Disney released a beverage-focused menu with two signature cocktails—the Floridian 75 and the Sunshine State Rum Sazerac—plus champagne, wine, beer, and a non-alcoholic Blueberry and Basil Iced Tea.
  • On-site work shows chairs, lighting, stained glass panels, and bar equipment being installed this week as crews complete finishing touches ahead of the debut.
  • Disney confirmed the Garden View Lounge will reopen in early 2026 with a refreshed look and a new tea experience suitable for all ages.
  • The lobby overhaul is nearing completion with updated stained-glass skylights, a ‘Language of Flowers’ carpet, an impressionist-style mural above the staircase, and vintage-inspired furnishings; the original birdcage structure was removed to create space for the bar.
