Disney+ Marks 35 Years of Home Alone With Giant Gingerbread House, Little Nero’s Pop-Ups and Airport Activations

The campaign leans on experiential stunts to convert nostalgia into streaming engagement.

Overview

  • Disney+ and Hulu are attempting a Guinness World Record with a 58-by-42-by-25.6-foot gingerbread McCallister house in Hollywood, slated for public viewing Dec. 18–19, weather permitting, with Toys for Tots donations encouraged and certification pending.
  • Prince Street Pizza will run Little Nero’s pop-ups Dec. 10–17, including LA, Chicago and Toronto décor, a Studio City makeover with the delivery car on site, and a temporary renaming of the classic cheese slice to “The Lovely Cheese Pizza.”
  • A “No Kevin Left Behind” activation with CLEAR runs Dec. 17–21 at nine major U.S. airports, offering themed ornaments to CLEAR+ members and complimentary CLEAR Concierge codes for members named Kevin who use select lanes.
  • From Dec. 19–31, VIZIO users can launch Disney+ by saying “KEVIN!” into the VIZIO Voice Remote, taking viewers directly to stream Home Alone.
  • All six films in the franchise are available on Disney+, with Hulu access beginning Dec. 1, alongside special anniversary screenings and a live interview event billed as A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin and D23 interactive screenings in select cities.
