Disney Jr. Unveils Franchise-Driven Preschool Slate Through 2028

Overview

  • Disney Jr. has greenlit two new franchise-based preschool series, Cars: Lightning Racers and Marvel’s Avengers: Mightiest Friends, both slated to debut in 2027 on Disney Jr. and Disney+.
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ has been renewed for two additional seasons, with Season 2 arriving in 2027 and Season 3 in 2028 on Disney Jr. and streaming.
  • Two 22-minute Marvel’s Spidey and Iron Man: Avengers Team Up! specials are set for October 16, 2025 on Disney Jr., followed by a Halloween-themed installment in late 2026.
  • New stop-motion sing-along shorts Mickey & Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Halloween and Christmas will debut on September 29, 2025 and in December 2025, respectively, on Disney Jr. then Disney+.
  • Premiere dates were announced for returning shows: Disney Jr. Ariel – The Little Mermaid: The Glow Crystals on August 22, Firebuds Season 3 on September 15, and Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Season 3 this fall.
