• On August 5, Walt Disney World Resort filed a construction permit at 200 Showbiz Blvd. authorizing work on the Feature Animation building behind Star Wars Launch Bay The permit names Buena Vista Construction Company as the contractor responsible for labor, materials and electrical services in the Animation Courtyard area
• Earlier this summer, Disney submitted multiple permits for demolition of the courtyard archway and related site-preparation tasks ahead of the main renovation
• Star Wars Launch Bay and the Disney Jr. Play and Dance! show are slated to close on September 25 and September 24, respectively, to make room for the new animation-focused land
• Disney plans to open The Walt Disney Studios Lot in 2026 with a Sorcerer Mickey hat facade, a Mary Blair–inspired play zone and a new Disney Jr.–themed show
