Disney Extends Typhoon Lagoon Weather Closure Through Jan. 16 as Mayday Falls Goes Offline

Typhoon Lagoon’s initial three-day shutdown was lengthened to a five-day closure from January 12–16 because of unusually cold conditions in Central Florida.
Disney lists a January 17 reopening for Typhoon Lagoon, noting hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and advises guests to check for updates as conditions can change.
Mayday Falls, the park’s marquee raft slide, is marked unavailable with no confirmed reopening date and no explanation from Disney.

Disney’s seasonal rotation returns next month with Blizzard Beach scheduled to open February 15 and both water parks planned to operate together from May 26 to September 8, 2026.
