Overview
- Disney unveiled the expanded Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and a refreshed Reception Outpost on July 10–11, 2026, and both are now open to guests.
- The pool project added a new zero-entry pool and widened deck space next to the existing Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, roughly doubling the usable pool and lounge area while keeping the 67-foot corkscrew waterslide in place.
- The Reception Outpost was reconfigured to give cast members more room to greet and assist arriving guests and now features new artwork above the fireplace plus three scenes of Huey, Dewey and Louie.
- Design touches at the pool include a nostalgic barrel carriage with Mickey in camping gear that serves as a tribute to the long-closed River Country water park and to the resort’s history.
- Reporters place the Fort Wilderness work in the context of wider, continuing investments across Walt Disney World hotels, and the changes should mean less crowding at the pool and a smoother check-in experience for families staying on the 750-acre property.
