Disney Destiny Departs Meyer Werft Dock for Final Outfitting

The LNG-powered cruise liner will enter open waters ahead of its November 20 maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas.

Overview

  • On August 9 the 340-meter-long, 41-meter-wide vessel left the Papenburg dock to begin outfitting work set to conclude in early September.
  • The ship will traverse the Ems River to the North Sea later this summer before proceeding to sea trials.
  • As Disney Cruise Line’s third Wish-class ship and seventh overall, Disney Destiny accommodates about 4,000 guests in 1,250 cabins.
  • Meyer Werft acquired and reconfigured the hull originally intended as ‘Global One’ after purchasing it in 2022.
  • The shipyard holds four additional Disney cruise ship orders with deliveries scheduled from 2027 through 2031.
