Disney Destiny Completes Ems River Conveyance Ahead of Sea Trials

Sea trials will be followed by a formal handover, then a training crossing before the November 20 maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale.

Overview

  • After departing the Meyer Werft yard in Papenburg over the weekend, the third Wish‑class ship completed the 20‑mile conveyance to Eemshaven, Netherlands.
  • Testing at sea is scheduled over the next few weeks to validate performance, maneuvering and onboard systems before passenger service.
  • Following trials, Disney Cruise Line plans seven days of crew drills, a return to the yard for final touches, an ownership handover with a flag exchange, and an Atlantic crossing used for training.
  • The ship is slated to begin guest operations with a November 20, 2025 maiden sailing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
  • Destiny carries a Heroes & Villains identity with venues including Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, a second Haunted Mansion Parlor, lounges themed to Cruella De Vil and Doctor Strange, a Black Panther atrium statue and Spider‑Man on the stern.
