Disney Christens Destiny in Fort Lauderdale Ahead of Nov. 20 Maiden Voyage

The heroes-and-villains–themed ship showcases immersive design that advances Disney’s global cruise expansion to 2031.

  • The Nov. 10 ceremony at Port Everglades featured remarks by Josh D’Amaro and Joe Schott, a blessing from godmother Susan Egan, and a concert-style production on the pier.
  • The third Wish-class vessel centers on a Heroes & Villains concept, with a Wakanda-inspired Grand Hall, a Black Panther statue, and interactive encounters with characters like Loki and Dr. Facilier.
  • New offerings include the Broadway-style Disney Hercules show, Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King dining, De Vil’s Piano Lounge, Doctor Strange’s Sanctum, and the Pirates-themed Cask & Cannon pub.
  • The ship begins four- and five-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale on Nov. 20, calling in The Bahamas and Western Caribbean with stops at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
