Disney+ Cancels Black Panther Okoye Spinoff Series

Marvel confirms the Okoye-led live-action series is no longer in development, but the character will return in future MCU projects.

The planned Disney+ spinoff series centered on Danai Gurira's Okoye, leader of the Dora Milaje, has been officially canceled by Marvel Studios.
Marvel's head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, stated that while Okoye will return to the MCU, it won't be in a television series format.
The animated series 'Eyes of Wakanda,' exploring Wakandan history and vibranium artifacts, is still set to premiere on Disney+ on August 6, 2025.
'Eyes of Wakanda' will be a four-part anthology produced by Ryan Coogler and tied closely to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios is reportedly reevaluating its TV strategy, focusing on fewer projects after recent challenges with its television production pipeline.
