Overview
- On Wednesday, July 22, green construction walls were installed along the south end of the future dock site beside the Magic Kingdom walkway and construction materials were staged behind those barriers.
- Florida’s water management district approved the dock permit package in March 2026, authorizing a new wooden dock for Cast Member use and a possible expansion of the ferry guest queue.
- Ground-level work began in June 2026 with land clearing and floodplain compensation along the Seven Seas Lagoon shoreline to meet permit requirements before dock construction moved closer to the guest path.
- The fourth ferry, named Meg Gilbert Crofton, is being assembled off-site with recent work at a service marina and is expected to join the Seven Seas Lagoon fleet in 2027 while Disney has not given a date for the dock opening.
- Ferry service between Magic Kingdom and the Transportation & Ticket Center and monorail service remain in operation during the work, though the new barriers already alter the ferry queue path and may change guest circulation near the park entrance.
