- On August 5, Walt Disney World Resort filed a construction permit for labor, materials and electrical work at 200 Showbiz Blvd., contracting Buena Vista Construction Company for initial preparations of the Feature Animation building.
- A notice of commencement permit filed August 6 by Walt Disney Imagineering lists North American Crane & Rigging LLC for site modifications at the Animation Courtyard archway, signaling the start of demolition and infrastructure upgrades.
- The recent permit activity precedes the planned closures of Disney Jr. Play and Dance! on September 24 and Star Wars Launch Bay on September 25, making way for the area’s overhaul.
- Animation Courtyard will be rebranded as The Walt Disney Studios Lot, drawing inspiration from Disney’s Burbank campus and restoring The Magic of Disney Animation as its centerpiece.
- When it reopens in 2026, the new land will showcase interactive experiences including a Mary Blair–inspired Alice in Wonderland indoor playground, a Sorcerer Mickey Hat facade and a Disney Jr.–themed show.
