Discover Airlines to Grow Fleet to 40 by 2028, Add Four Airbus A350s

The new widebodies are intended to unlock longer-range leisure routes beyond the airline’s current A330 reach.

Overview

  • Discover says A350-900 integration will begin in mid-2027, with initial deployment on routes such as Orlando and Windhoek before opening access to South and Central America, southern Africa, and Southeast Asia.
  • Three A330-200s will be retired in 2026 as five A330-300s enter service, bringing the A330-300 total to 16 by the end of 2026.
  • The short- and medium-haul fleet will expand by four A320s, with two arriving in 2026 and two more by mid-2028, taking the A320 total to 20.
  • A fleetwide cabin refresh is planned, with all aircraft to receive state-of-the-art Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins, and next-generation interiors on A330s starting in 2027.
  • One outlet reports the incoming A350s are the four former Philippine Airlines jets previously acquired by Lufthansa, a detail not specified in Discover’s announcement.
