Discord has launched a major redesign of its mobile app, focusing on messaging and social features, with a new set of tabs for Servers, Messages, Notifications and user profiles.
The redesign includes a new global DM search function, a revamped profile page, and a new 'Midnight' dark mode.
Improvements also include faster app opening times, reduced data usage, and an updated UI for voice and video calls.
The mobile app now stores recent messages of up to 700 text channels and DMs, which should improve loading times and scrolling speed.
Discord's CEO, Jason Citron, is set to testify before the US Senate Judiciary Committee about children's safety online on January 31, 2024.
