Directors Guild of America Announces 2025 Award Nominees

Five filmmakers, including Jacques Audiard and Brady Corbet, vie for DGA's top honor as Oscar race heats up.

The DGA's 2025 nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film are Jacques Audiard ('Emilia Pérez'), Sean Baker ('Anora'), Edward Berger ('Conclave'), Brady Corbet ('The Brutalist'), and James Mangold ('A Complete Unknown').
Notable snubs include Jon M. Chu ('Wicked'), Coralie Fargeat ('The Substance'), and Denis Villeneuve ('Dune: Part Two'), despite strong showings in other awards circuits.
The first-time theatrical feature category includes Payal Kapadia ('All We Imagine as Light'), Megan Park ('My Old Ass'), RaMell Ross ('Nickel Boys'), Sean Wang ('Dìdi'), and Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel ('Armand').
Television leaders include FX's 'Shōgun' and 'The Bear,' each earning three nominations, alongside HBO's 'The Penguin,' which also secured three nods.
The 77th Annual DGA Awards will take place on February 8, 2025, at The Beverly Hilton, with winners often seen as strong indicators for the Oscars.
