Overview
- Deutsche Bahn will resume a continuous Nuremberg–Hof connection on Monday, Oct. 13, restoring through journeys without bus transfers.
- An interim timetable runs seven train pairs per day at roughly two-hour intervals through Dec. 13, with a new schedule starting Dec. 14.
- Trains will bypass the closed Hersbruck–Pegnitz section by routing via Weiden and Marktredwitz after bridge damage halted traffic on Sept. 19.
- More than 60 replacement buses continue to operate between Hersbruck and Pegnitz during the ongoing works.
- The through link will pause Nov. 1–5 during a closure between Neukirchen and Weiden, and DB InfraGO aims to restart Pegnitztal rail service by February 2026.
