Diputación de Valencia Finalizes Loan of Costumbrist Masterpieces for Major Exhibition

Fundación Bancaja's upcoming show, curated by Francisco Javier Pérez Rojas, will feature over 100 works, including rare and iconic Valencian paintings, from May 9 to September 14.

Overview

  • Ten costumbrist paintings from the Diputación de Valencia, including works by Joaquín Sorolla and Bernardo Ferrándiz, will be part of the exhibition.
  • The exhibition, titled 'Escenas y paisajes en la pintura valenciana. Siglos XIX y XX,' will highlight the artistic renewal of Valencian costumbrism between 1870 and 1930.
  • Curated by art historian Francisco Javier Pérez Rojas, the show will draw from 37 institutional and private collections, showcasing many previously unpublished works.
