Dino Patti Reacquires Jumpship Studio Following Thunderful Shutdown

The co-founder plans to reboot the studio with a new vision while also investing in Viewfinder developer Sad Owl Studios.

Dino Patti, co-founder of Jumpship, has regained ownership of the studio after its closure by Thunderful in November 2024.
Jumpship, known for its 2022 sci-fi survival game Somerville, is currently empty of employees, with plans to rebuild in a new direction.
Patti has also acquired shares in Sad Owl Studios, the creators of the BAFTA-winning 2023 indie game Viewfinder.
The reacquisition is part of Patti's broader vision to innovate the gaming industry, including rethinking traditional publishing models.
Jumpship's future direction will focus on emotion-driven storytelling, gameplay innovation, and fostering a supportive environment for talent.
