The Chandigarh administration reported that noise levels at Diljit Dosanjh's December 14 concert exceeded the permissible limit of 75 decibels, reaching up to 93 decibels in some areas.
A show cause notice was issued to the concert organizers for breaching noise regulations under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000.
The municipal corporation fined the organizers ₹25,000 for leaving the concert venue in disarray, citing littering, broken fencing, and other damages.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court is reviewing the case and has recommended strict action against the organizers for the violations, with a hearing adjourned until January.
Diljit Dosanjh addressed criticism over his use of 'Panjab' instead of 'Punjab' in a social media post, clarifying it reflects historical spelling and denying any political intent.
