« Mes pensées vont d’abord à la personne victime présumée et à sa famille », a déclaré Mgr Hérouard, archevêque de Dijon, qui « redit sa confiance dans le travail de la justice et dans les investigations de la gendarmerie pour que la vérité se fasse pleinement jour ».

Overview

  • He was placed under formal examination on May 30 for “agressions sexuelles aggravées” and remanded to Bourges prison by the prosecutor’s office.
  • A single complaint was filed by a young man alleging that the priest abused him in 2010, which the diocese learned of in November 2024.
  • Archbishop Antoine Hérouard prohibited him from all activities involving minors, including catechesis, confession, and visits to former parishes.
  • The priest served in Morocco as a Fidei Donum in the Diocese of Rabat from 2017 until returning to France in 2024 for psychological follow-up.
  • The diocese transmitted requested information to the gendarmerie and says it is cooperating with the ongoing judicial investigation.
