Overview

  • The Consejo Ciudadano’s mid-year report shows an 86% increase in child sexual exploitation reports for January–June 2025, identifying 696 minor victims.
  • Digital environments drove 81% of grooming incidents and initiated 62% of trafficking cases, with Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and online games frequently cited.
  • Adolescents aged 16–17 comprised 44% of victims and those 12–15 made up 41%, with females representing 59% of all cases.
  • Sexual exploitation was the leading purpose of trafficking at 30.7%, followed by forced labor at 28.2% and forced begging at 15.4%.
  • Since January 2024 the national hotline has received 5,170 calls leading to 1,186 confirmed trafficking cases and 66 investigative files opened by the FGJCDMX.
