• The jury was told that Elias Morgan allegedly planned the killing of former prison officer Lenny Scott and recruited Anthony Cleary to deliver the van and electric motorbike used by the gunman.
• Cleary’s phone records show that minutes after a WhatsApp call with the alleged shooter he searched online for news of the Skelmersdale shooting and later watched videos on how to delete iPhone location history.
• Prosecutors highlighted Morgan’s January 3 reconnaissance trip to sites linked to Scott, including his home, a former gym in Speke and the Peel House venue where the shooting occurred.
• The court heard that Scott seized a banned mobile phone from Morgan’s cell in 2020, exposing Morgan’s illicit relationship with officer Sarah Williams and leading to threats that left Scott fearing for his family’s safety.
• Both men deny murder charges, Cleary also denies manslaughter and the trial before Mr Justice Goose will hear further evidence through its scheduled August 3 conclusion.
