DiGeronimo Chosen to Lead Cleveland’s 50-Acre Lakefront Redevelopment
NCWDC now turns to agreements with the city, consultant selection, then early infrastructure before buildings follow the Browns’ departure.
Overview
- NCWDC selected Brecksville-based DiGeronimo Development as master developer after an 18-response RFQ and interviews with 11 teams.
- Early vision features an indoor–outdoor music venue of at least 10,000 seats, multifamily housing, a hotel, a food hall, and expansive free public spaces with promenades and recreation.
- The city has secured roughly $150 million in federal and state grants for a land bridge and Memorial Shoreway reconfiguration, with work slated for 2027–2030.
- With the Browns planning to relocate to Brook Park in 2029 and committing $45 million to the lakefront, stadium demolition would open the site for vertical construction around 2029–2030 after earlier site preparation.
- A community benefits agreement is expected to set goals for local hiring, MBE/WBE participation, affordability, and equitable access, as DiGeronimo brings a regional track record and prior Browns-related partnerships.
