Diesel Names Andrea Rigogliosi Chief Executive, Ending Nearly Three-Year Vacancy

His retail pedigree points to a sharpened focus on direct-to-consumer expansion.

Overview

  • Rigogliosi will report to Ubaldo Minelli, CEO of parent OTB Group.
  • The executive previously led retail and commercial at Miu Miu and held senior posts at Fendi, Christian Dior Couture and L’Oréal Luxe.
  • Diesel’s revenues rose 3.2% in 2024 at constant exchange rates, while OTB’s turnover fell to €1.8 billion with the decline reported between 4.4% and 5.2% due to wholesale weakness and a China slowdown.
  • Direct channels accounted for 57% of OTB’s 2024 sales as Diesel opened 16 stores, including flagships in Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo, and a new site in Bangalore.
  • OTB chairman Renzo Rosso credited Glenn Martens’ creative direction and a 2020 repositioning for strengthening Diesel’s identity and its pull with younger consumers.
