Diego Boneta to Star in Prime Video's New Series 'El Gato'

The bilingual series, based on the comic 'El Gato Negro,' begins production in Mexico this spring.

Diego Boneta is set to lead the new Prime Video series 'El Gato,' based on the comic book 'El Gato Negro' by Richard Dominguez, with production starting this spring in Mexico.
The series will be bilingual, shot in both English and Spanish, and features Boneta as Frank Guerrero, who discovers his father was the 1970s vigilante 'El Gato.'
Eric Carrasco will serve as the creator, executive producer, and co-showrunner alongside Turi Meyer and Alfredo Septién.
The project, previously stalled at MGM Television, is now being produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
'El Gato' is described as a pulp thriller and family drama, blending elements of spies, masks, and secret identities.
