Overview
- Directed by Vera Bolten with music by Alex Melcher after six years of development, the premiere took place on July 1 at Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein in Füssen.
- The debut performance earned minutes-long standing ovations from an audience moved by the cast’s portrayal of the White Rose resistance.
- Staging features an all-black minimalist design with a live band, projections and authentic quotes from wartime letters, diaries and leaflets.
- Jonathan Guth and Friederike Zeidler star as Hans and Sophie Scholl, joined by Maximilian Aschenbrenner as Christoph Probst and Adam Demetz as Alexander Schmorell.
- The production remains in Füssen through the end of July and then heads to Deutsches Theater München for a residency from July 3 to 6.
