Diddy’s Prison Release Moved to Early March 2028

Federal prison records show a new early-March release after reporting of alleged contraband use and paid inmate services led officials to open a review.

Overview

  • Bureau of Prisons records published in recent coverage now list Sean 'Diddy' Combs’s release in early March 2028, with outlets citing either March 2 or March 8 and not the prior Jan. 21 date.
  • News organizations released an NBC-based investigation alleging Combs had access to a contraband cellphone, alcohol, and paid other inmates for massages, meals and chores.
  • Following those reports, multiple outlets said Combs was moved to the Special Housing Unit at FCI Fort Dix, where inmates are kept in restrictive or solitary housing while officials review conduct.
  • The Bureau of Prisons declined to explain reasons for the release-date change or discuss conditions of confinement, citing privacy, safety and security, and Combs’s representative called the coverage an overstatement of ordinary prison life.
  • Combs is serving a 50-month sentence from his 2025 Mann Act convictions and is pursuing an appeal, and any disciplinary review or referrals by the BOP could affect custody conditions and the timing of his release.
