Diamondbacks Sign Eduardo Rodriguez to $80M Contract

The deal could increase to $99 million with bonuses, bolstering the Diamondbacks' rotation.

Eduardo Rodriguez, a left-handed starting pitcher, has agreed to a four-year, $80 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The contract includes an option for 2028 and bonuses that could increase its value to $99 million.
Rodriguez, 30, went 13-9 with a career-best 3.30 ERA over 26 starts last season for the Detroit Tigers.
He is expected to fit into a Diamondbacks rotation that includes right-handed pitchers Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly, Brandon Pfaadt and fellow left-hander Tommy Henry.
Rodriguez opted out of the final three years and $49 million on his contract with the Tigers to become a free agent.
