Diablo IV Season 11 Launches Dec. 11 With Major Overhauls and a Post–Game Awards Start

The update revamps loot, enemy AI, seasonal progression, with The Tower plus leaderboards now planned for early 2026.

Overview

  • Season of Divine Intervention goes live Dec. 11 at 8:30 p.m. PST / 11:30 p.m. EST (Dec. 12 at 4:30 a.m. GMT / 5:30 a.m. CET), an unusually late start that follows The Game Awards, with fan speculation about possible reveals remaining unconfirmed.
  • Itemization is rebuilt: Tempering now lets players choose specific affixes with unlimited rerolls, Masterworking adds a Quality stat from 0–25 that boosts base stats and affixes with a final capstone bonus, and Sanctification provides an irreversible endgame upgrade that can add a bonus Legendary power, Greater Affixes and extra Quality.
  • Enemies are redesigned as “evolved monsters” across all content with smarter AI, tighter elite and champion packs and 20-plus new affixes, alongside a defense overhaul that introduces Toughness, rating-based Armor and Resistances and instant-heal potion changes.
  • Season Rank replaces Renown on the Seasonal Realm, requiring objectives and Capstone Dungeons to advance through difficulty tiers and awarding skill and Paragon points, Smoldering Ashes, cosmetics and Heavenly Sigils.
  • The Lesser Evils reshape endgame activities: Azmodan becomes a permanent world boss and summonable challenge, Duriel takes over Helltide, Belial corrupts The Pit and Andariel infests the Kurast Undercity, with a new Divine Gifts system offering Corrupted or Purified sockets and reward tracks tied to each boss.
