DHS Officer’s Pro-Hamas Social Media Posts Under Scrutiny
DHS Officer Placed on Leave for Pro-Terrorism Posts, Former PLO Spokeswoman
- Nejwa Ali, a Department of Homeland Security officer, has been placed on administrative leave following the discovery of pro-Hamas and anti-Israel posts on her social media.
- Ali previously served as a public affairs officer for the Palestine Liberation Organization’s US delegation between 2016 and 2017, before joining the US Citizenship and Immigration Services in 2019.
- Her role at the Homeland Security included vetting people before they enter the US, and she has reportedly expressed support for Palestinian causes for years.
- She posted inflammatory comments about Israel under the moniker “Falastine Mi Amor” on private social media accounts, some of which included images of terrorists.
- Sen. Josh Hawley questioned how Ali was hired in the first place given her background, and demanded an immediate explanation from the DHS.
