DHS Finalizes 2026 Inflation Adjustments to Select Immigration and Border Fees

The modest increases follow HR-1’s requirement for annual CPI-based updates.

Overview

  • USCIS said new fees take effect Jan. 1, 2026, including initial I-765 EADs for asylum, parole, and TPS rising from $550 to $560 and Form I-821 for TPS moving from $500 to $510.
  • CBP confirmed the parole fee will increase from $1,000 to $1,020 effective Jan. 1, 2026.
  • Travel fees will also change, with ESTA set at $40.27 and EVUS at $30.75, applying respectively to Visa Waiver Program travelers and certain Chinese B‑1/B‑2 visa holders.
  • Several charges will not change for FY2026, including the I-589 asylum fee at $100, the I-765 asylum EAD renewal at $275, the I-360 at $250, and CBP’s I-94 at $30.
  • USCIS noted the annual asylum application fee increase is currently stayed by a court order, and the adjustments reflect inflation measured from July 2024 through July 2025 with annual reviews to continue.
