Pradhan Launches Viksit Bharat Buildathon to Engage 1 Crore Students

Overview

  • The Department of School Education and Literacy will conduct a live buildathon on October 13 from 10:00 to 12:00 across all six lakh schools, to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Students in Classes 6–12 can register from September 23 to October 6, with project submissions accepted from October 13 to 31.
  • Participants will ideate, design and prototype solutions under four themes: vocal for local, atmanirbhar bharat, swadeshi and Samriddh Bharat.
  • Organisers plan to felicitate 1,110 winners — 10 national, 100 state and 1,000 district — with a total award pool of Rs 1 crore, with results expected in January 2026.
  • The initiative is being run in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission at NITI Aayog as part of the government’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision to promote creativity and self-reliance in schools.
