Dharavi Redevelopment Survey Ends August 12 as Helpline Remains Open

Publication of Draft Annexure II finalises eligibility lists ahead of the rehabilitation phase.

Overview

  • Door-to-door enumeration wraps up on August 12 after surveying over 87,000 households and mapping 120,000 tenements across Dharavi and five adjoining areas.
  • Residents can still join the official list by calling the DRP helpline or submitting valid documents at DRP and NMDPL offices post-deadline.
  • Settlers by January 1, 2000, qualify for free 350-sq-ft in-situ flats while those who arrived between 2000 and 2011 may receive 300-sq-ft PMAY units outside Dharavi.
  • The state cabinet has approved a policy that allocates 10% of commercial space in rehabilitation complexes to lessees and non-owning traders.
  • Tenements not surveyed by the deadline will be deemed to have opted out but can be added later once Draft Annexure II is announced.
