Dhanush Files Lawsuit Over Netflix Documentary Featuring Film Footage

Actor Dhanush accuses Nayanthara and her production team of unauthorized use of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan visuals, escalating tensions in the Tamil film industry.

Dhanush has filed a civil lawsuit in the Madras High Court against Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Sivan, and their production company Rowdy Pictures for using footage from the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary without permission.
The lawsuit also includes Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, a Netflix-linked entity, which Dhanush claims is involved in the unauthorized use of the visuals.
Nayanthara alleges that Dhanush demanded ₹10 crore in damages for a three-second behind-the-scenes clip and accused him of strong-arming her despite her earlier decision to remove the footage.
The legal dispute has intensified personal and professional tensions between Dhanush and Nayanthara, who reportedly avoided each other at a recent public event in Chennai.
