- At 23:45 on July 8, the three-person crew issued a Mayday call to Bremen Rescue Radio reporting water ingress about 500 metres off the Graswarder Peninsula
- The DGzRS station Heiligenhafen dispatched its lifeboat ‘Heiligenhafen,’ which reached the stricken yacht within minutes
- Rescuers found that the yacht’s centreboard had broken off after contacting the seabed, creating large holes in the hull
- The team used temporary seals and dewatering pumps before towing the vessel into the harbour and lifting it ashore by crane
- One sailor sustained a hand injury and was taken to hospital, while the other two crew members remained uninjured
