DGT Launches Murcia Roadworks Safety Campaign With 216 Agents

  • A June 2024 Civil Guard operation checked 187,852 vehicles and issued 11,763 fines, 85% of them for speeding in roadworks areas.
  • Provisional 2024 data from the National Accident Victim Registry record 142 accidents in maintenance zones, involving 23 pedestrian workers and 119 incidents in vehicles.
  • The DGT is studying GPS-enabled “connected cones” designed to send real-time alerts to drivers as they approach active construction sites.
