DGGI Arrests Telangana Congress Leader and Factory MD in Hyderabad GST Fraud Cases

The agency says the action follows intelligence developed through data analytics to dismantle organised GST fraud networks.

M. Sunil Kumar, Managing Director of Orange Passenger Transport and Congress in-charge for Balkonda, was arrested for allegedly collecting Rs 28.24 crore in GST and not remitting it beyond the statutory period.
Chethan N., Managing Director of Trillion Lead Factory Pvt Ltd, was arrested for allegedly masterminding a fake Input Tax Credit scheme valued at Rs 22 crore.
Both suspects were booked under provisions of the Central GST Act, 2017 and were produced before a magistrate at the Nampally Criminal Court complex in Hyderabad.
The DGGI’s Hyderabad unit said the arrests are part of intensified enforcement driven by data analytics and inter-agency collaboration targeting large, inter-state evasion rackets.
Officials stated that investigations continue to determine the full extent of the suspected fraud and to identify any additional individuals or entities involved.
