DGCA Says IndiGo Completed Refunds, Offers INR 10,000 Vouchers After December Disruptions

Passengers may still seek statutory compensation under DGCA rules following the December disruptions.

Overview

  • The aviation regulator said IndiGo has returned all refunds for cancellations on December 3–5, 2025 to the original payment method.
  • IndiGo is granting a Gesture of Care of two travel vouchers worth INR 5,000 each, valid for 12 months, for passengers whose flights were canceled or delayed by more than three hours during that period.
  • Affected customers can check eligibility and submit details for the vouchers through a dedicated IndiGo webpage that also lists eligible flights.
  • Travelers remain entitled to compensation under DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements, including claims where flights were canceled within 24 hours of scheduled departure.
  • The multi-day disruption canceled thousands of flights and stranded tens of thousands of passengers, prompting government scrutiny as IndiGo apologized and said it is strengthening operations.
