DGCA Says IndiGo Cleared Refunds for Dec. 3–5 Cancellations, With Rs 10,000 Vouchers for Affected Flyers

The regulator directed travelers to claim CAR cash compensation through IndiGo’s portal following the disruption inquiry.

Overview

  • IndiGo informed the DGCA that all refunds for flights cancelled between December 3 and 5, 2025 were processed back to the original payment method.
  • Passengers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of departure during that period remain eligible to claim compensation under CAR Section 3, Series M, Part IV via the airline’s online claim link.
  • IndiGo’s ‘Gesture of Care’ offers two vouchers of Rs 5,000 each, valid for 12 months, to customers whose flights were cancelled or delayed by over three hours during the affected window, with eligibility and flight lists posted online.
  • News reports note continuing complaints from some travelers about missing refunds or hurdles in accessing compensation and vouchers despite the regulator’s statement.
  • The DGCA’s four-member inquiry panel has submitted its report, a 10% schedule cut for IndiGo runs through March, and the airline says operations have stabilised.
